- QuickLink MessageCenter for Windows
- Documentation, Clarifications, & Hardware Update
- Version 2.2.0
-
- Added Features:
- ---------------
-
- * QuickLink MessageCenter can now share the comm port with
- other applications.
-
- Changes:
- --------
-
- * If you find that your system has trouble dialing
- when it is about to make a call to your pager, you
- can create an entry in the QLMCW.CFG file in the
- [Setup Options] section that will cause a delay
- before the pager dialing occurs. The number is
- in seconds.
- [Setup Options]
- PagerDelay=10
-
- * The maximum number of rings upon which the system will
- answer for voice mode is 15 rings. If the system is set
- for voice and fax, the number of rings to answer is
- determined by the setting under 'Voice Hardware Setup'
- and not the number of rings under 'Modem Setup'.
-
- Warnings:
- ---------
-
- * If you are using the SPEAKER.DRV driver to play wave sounds through
- your PC speaker, then you MUST be sure that the speaker driver is
- set to allow interrupts during playback. If the interrupts are
- not enabled during playback, then the modem may fail to maintain
- the phone connection during a local operator page. To check on
- the setting, open the Control Panel, select "Drivers", then
- select "Sound Driver for PC Speaker". If the "Sound Driver
- for PC Speaker" is absent, then you do not have to be concerned.
- If the "Sound Driver for PC Speaker" is present, then select it
- and then press the "Setup..." button. In the dialog, make sure
- that the "Enable interrupts during playback" checkbox is checked.
-
- Mailbox Information:
- --------------------
-
- * The default mailbox greeting file for the primary
- greeting is 'GREETING.GSM'.
- * The default mailbox greeting file for the secondary
- greeting is 'SECONDRY.GSM'.
- * The default auxiliary message voice file for each mailbox is
- 'AUXILARY.GSM'.
- * The voice file which specifies the mailboxes available for access
- is called 'MAINMAIL.GSM' and can be played or recorded only
- in multiple mailbox mode by pressing the 'Greeting' button
- in the toolbar, pressing CTRL+G or selecting 'Greeting'
- option under the Mailbox menu.
- * The first greeting played when the system is accessed in multiple
- mailbox mode is MAINMAIL.GSM and in single mailbox mode is
- the primary or secondary greeting as selected in the ADMIN mailbox.
- * The default message length is 60 seconds, not 90.
- * The text listing the default outgoing messages is
- available in the online help.
-
- Clarifications:
- ---------------
-
- * You must access user mailboxes by first pressing the '1' key on the
- keyboard or the handset. A prompt will ask you to enter the number
- of the mailbox you wish to access. Enter one of the numeric keys.
- * You will be prompted to enter the password for access to the
- private functions of a mailbox when accessing the system from remote
- only if the "Enable password" option is checked in the particular
- mailbox's setup dialog. To reach these private functions from a
- mailbox, press '9'.
- * Flash mail can be selected for an existing mailbox. The feature can
- be found under the Options menu in the Mailboxes program. This controls
- which mailbox is considered when the flash mail is enabled. It is also
- the mailbox that is used for Toll saver determination.
-
- Specific Modem Information:
- ---------------------------------------------------
-
- * All voice files end with the extension of 'GSM'.
